Most of us complain about the pain in the leg after a hard day or an active sports day. And most of the activity of the day takes up so much of our time that we have very little time left to devote to ourselves. We must understand that our body is a system and functions great if taken a good care. It needs activities and exercise to keep healthy and sound at the same time it needs rest as well to rejuvenate. The pain in the leg is nothing but the calf muscle pain which is at the back of our leg. This is caused by exercising improperly or stretching unnecessarily. This can be cured easily most times.
Three kinds of muscles two on gastrocnemeus and one soleus make up the calf muscle. These muscles should be stretched only moderately while exercising as well as after.

Treatment for calf muscle pain
- Rest: This is one of the top most treatments for calf pain. Sometimes only some rest is required for the pain to subside.2. Hot and cold pack: Hot or cold packs can be applied to the aching muscles to relieve the pain.
- Stretching: Sometimes stretching can cure the strain of your calf muscle, moderate exercises will be more than sufficient to get away with the pain.
- Physical therapy: A qualified physical therapist can help ease the pain. Generally, these are exercises to strengthen the muscles and reduce the pain.
- Anti inflammatory medications: These have to be recommended by the doctor after proper assessment of the muscle pain. Self medication will reduce the pain but the actual cause will not be prevented or cured.
A person can stay away all such ailments if only exercise is part of the daily routine and a healthy diet again, too much of anything can be bad for calf muscle pain.
