Learn for Hip Joint Pain

Hip pain can make simple activities painful; it may not felt exactly in the hip, sometimes it happens in upper part of the thigh and in the groin.

Hip joint is the joint connecting between leg bone and torso of the body. Hip joint pain is more and more common now, and it is caused by different reasons. There are many causes can arise hip pain, by hip bone itself and surrounding. Inside the hip joint, there is small space that fill with fluid to allow the femoral head to move in the socket of acetabulum. When an injury or illness occurs, the socket will fill with blood or fluid that cause inflammation and stretch the capsule, therefore, hip joint pain appears. Around the socket area there are though cartilages surround, like any other joints. This area can be tearing and cause hip joint pain as well. Also other illness can be referring to joint pain, like hip arthritics, trauma, etc.

The most common cause’s Hip Joint Pain is by muscles, ligaments, bones and tendons.

Muscle type of hip joint pain:

Muscles surrounding the hip joint allow the movement of hip. If any of these muscle get strains, it cause hip pain. This type of pain is got nothing to worry about; usually they occur because of force of high impact movement or wrong lifting techniques.

Hip pain caused by tendon:

Tendons are the tissue between joint and muscle, overuse of the place can start inflammation of the tendon that causes the pain. These injuries may contribute by daily activities, and it usually come with knee pain.

Hip joint pain caused by ligaments:

Due to trauma, strains and sprains at the hip joint area may occur, and cause hip pain. This type of pain is very painful even though there is no bone fracture. Ligament injury causes sprain, and damage muscle and tendon. When you force impact movement and too much walk or jump, the ligament starts infection, pain will occur.

Hip bone fractures:

This type of hip pain usually causes by injuries and bad fell. Older people are more common to get bone fractures from trauma. It can be lead to formation of blood clot in the leg which if moves to the lungs can give rise to a life threatening condition.

Treatment of hip joint pain:

In the beginning of the pain, you can try to take rest of hip joint from hip activities. Sleeping on a firmer mattress will help too. When the pain get worse, is the time to do the ice pack treatment. These should reduce the pain and swelling. You may take pain killer with your doctor’s consultation as well, but once the pain continuous and your physician thinks it causes by bone fractures, you might need to consider surgical intervention.
